Become a home based travel agent how?

I am currently in school to be a travel agent. The goal was to be a home based travel agent and have my own business. I currently work in a travel agency sorta its limited to cruises, tours, resorts etc. Its a large call center and the commision SUCKS anywhere from 5.00 per booking to 50.00 per booking making min wage on top of that. I want my own I just got done working 4 years in the airline industry and I am familiar with the computer programs for delta continental and jet blue I also worked in a hotel reservation center best western for a year when i was younger. Are there any opportunities out there or am I wasting my time. Travel industry is my passion and im willing to give it my all just not sure what offers are legit and which are scams. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks guys

Home based travel agents need a “captive clientele” such as members of their large church, for example.

It is very difficult to market your services if you do not have an office. It is also very hard to succeed as an independent travel agent as most people now book on line.

I’m sorry to tell you that this is not a good field to enter, especially in this economy.

social security business online services

social security business online services

Online social networking has become an important marketing tool for many businesses. It can be used for any thing from finding clients, to finding employees, to finding referral partners. One of the benefits of online social networking is that we can connect to people throughout the world using the internet.

There are several different types of online social networking. These include:  online social networking, microblogging, video blogging and bookmarking, just to name a few.

Many businesses use online social working. Some of the benefits of using online social networking include, the ability to reach prospects worldwide, the ability to know that you are going to participate in groups and sites geared to your target market and the ability to gain a better placement and to be more visible on search engines. As more businesses use online social networking as part of their marketing plans, it will likely become a must to keep up with the competition.

Some businesses avoid online social networking. This may be because they look at it more as a socializing tool than a marketing tool. Another reason may be that they simply do not have time. If this is the case, you can consider outsourcing your online social networking tasks. Some of the tasks that you can outsource include profile set-up, making and acceptance of friend requests, posting your status updates, tweeting on your behalf and bookmarking your articles and blog posts.

So, for your next marketing plan, consider online social networking to boost your number of qualified prospects and increase your sales.

Enterprise Web Services Security

Enterprise Web Services Security

$3.31

The use of Web Services for Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) transactions has created risks that expose critical assets to increasingly greater threats. Enterprise Web Services Security provides the information developers, application architects, and security professionals need to build security policies and strategies from the ground up in a Web Services environment. Most security books focus on computer or network security in isolation, relegating the other areas to overview chapters or appendices. A single-system view of security, however, is not adequate to describe a distributed Web Services-based environment as it causes the developer to have to piece together material from several resources in order to create secure Web sites and services. This book takes a holistic approach that mirrors the perspective developers need to take regardless of whether they are planning and implementing the security mechanisms for a Web Service, a Web site, or an enterprise. It details how to secure critical components such as workstations, servers, and networks, the goals behind an enterprise?s security policies, the policies an organization should have in place, and how to communicate those policies using WS-Policy Framework and WS-Security Policy. Various threats and attacks are also covered, as well as the identity management, authentication, authorization, access control, confidentiality, and integrity mechanisms needed to protect messages and transactions. Enterprise Web Services Security is the one book developers need to make all their security mechanisms work successfully to thwart attacks and protect assets.Introduction Chapter 1 Security in the Networked World Chapter 2 Threats and Attacks Chapter 3 Security Goals Chapter 4 The Internet and World Wide Web Infrastructure Chapter 5 Web Services Chapter 6 Security Policy Basics Chapter 7 Communicating Policy Chapter 8 Protecting the System Components Chapter 9 Protecting Messages, Transactions, an@záG®{ÿ¾Úx

The Social Network Business Plan

The Social Network Business Plan

$24.95

All of us know that users of the Web do not read advertisements on the websites we visit, yet the online communities are emerging as the next great media rely solely on this method to produce revenue. In The Social Network Business Plan, social network expert, David Silver presents and explains 18 cutting-edge methods to create revenue for social network websites–none of which are advertising. He also predicts the demise of seemingly successful online communities such as MySpace and Facebook that rely on advertising as non-sustainable modalities. Silver describes and explains that in the future new products and services will be introduced, talked about, rated, reviewed and recommended – or killed – by online communities. One example of the 18 new revenue channels that online communities are adopting is the sale to vendors of anonymized conversations of the community members concerning those vendors' products or services. Another example is online communities who partner with the internet providers to receive payment when a particular online community's information is downloaded usinf that providers service. The other sixteen revenue channels are equally head-turning!. Silver is the only angel investor, operating down where the rubber meets the road, who is investing in online communities in their infancy, and writing about which ones will win and which ones will fail.
