business online ideas

business online ideas

How many of us go through life defending our position or decisions? We have become more determined to be right all the time, when often there is no right or wrong answer. Becoming aggressive in defending your view point, puts you in the wrong frame of mind when dealing with others on your home business online opportunity. We should always maintain an open mind to see others opinions and view points. None of us are so perfect that we can afford not to learn from others. Getting into arguments closes your mind to new ideas and experiences and gets you no further along the road to your online success. When you are in the wrong, do not be afraid to openly and freely admit it. Be the one to say ‘I am wrong’, admit your faults. Because once you have voiced your faults, the other person has been deprived of the opportunity to use them against you. They are now forced to re-adjust their response to you. Their feeling of importance must now come from something other than putting you down, you have already done that yourself. More often than not their attitude will change to one of helpfulness and forgiveness. They are now back to feeling important but without having to put you down to achieve it.

Don’t make excuses for your faults, they usually sound lame to others. Something which you attach a lot of importance to may cause you to miss a deadline or a meeting etc., however others may not see it as being important at all. The important thing is to admit your mistakes, learn from them and move on. This is very true when choosing a home business online opportunity to work with. I have to admit I have tried a few. But when I realised I had not made a good choice I stopped rather than persevering with something I knew did not work for me. Thankfully I have learnt from my experiences which allowed me to recognise a good home business online opportunity when I eventually stumbled across it. You have the chance to be part of it and create your own online success story. Visit my blog to get more information.

Business of Personal Training, The (book)

Business of Personal Training, The (book)

$35.95

Inside information on administering your personal training business Whether you are considering a career as a personal trainer or searching for ways to increase revenue and gain new clients for your existing business, you’ll find The Business of Personal Training to be an indispensable reference. Written by some of the most successful personal trainers in the country, this book provides the foundation for building your personal training business. While many books address the subject of exercise training, few have been written about the business side of personal training. This book covers the topic more thoroughly than any other existing publication, discussing not only how to build a solid business but also how to be an effective trainer. Part I defines personal training, outlines the history of the profession, and reviews the qualifications for being a personal trainer. You’ll also find important information on the certifications offered by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, American College of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research, and National Strength and Conditioning Association. Many personal trainers have no formal business education and must learn the business aspects of their trade through trial and error. Part II helps you avoid common business mistakes, describing how to create, market, and manage a personal training enterprise. You’ll learn how to develop a mission statement and business plan, set business policies, create strategic and creative marketing plans, establish prices for services, hire and train staff members, and much more. This section also explains a personal trainer’s legal and professional responsibilities, such as giving clients a health screening, obtaining informed consent, and inspecting facilities and equipment. Part III offers techniques for becoming an effective personal trainer. Since there’s more to helping your clients achieve their fitness goals than simply prescribing a program, Part III discusses how to maintain a professional relationship with clients, the psychology of personal training, teaching techniques and tips for improving client-trainer communication, how to motivate clients and help them set goals, and how to design appropriate, individualized exercise programs. Nineteen sample forms in Parts II and III make it easy for you to put the ideas presented into practice. Learn from veteran personal trainer

start your own business advice

start your own business advice

Good design does not necessarily mean graphical design. If you seek advice from professional web designers, they will tell you that there are many things that can be attributed to good website design — usability or accessibility design, user experience design, layout or interface design, and then also the graphic design of your website.

Here are 3 design features that can be construed as bad web design practices. If you have already created your own website, you can use it to compare the design of your website and correct them before you start losing visitors and possible buyers.

1.  Illegible text and font sizes

Your website visitors should be able to read the text on your web pages without any trouble. Do not use very small text that will cause your visitors to strain their eyes. Font sizes like 10 or 12 are fairly legible but if your website focuses on older readers, you should use a bigger size. Fonts like Arial, Tahoma, Georgia or Verdana view best in nearly all browsers. Limit the size of different fonts to no more than three (actually two is better) on a web page and refrain from using dark backgrounds with text that does not contrast sharply and makes it difficult to read the contents. In most cases dark text on a light background stands out more and is easier to read. Remember, even the best content won’t keep your visitors on your website if they have difficulty in reading it so make a point of it to use text and fonts that is suitable to your content and ensure that your visitors stay on your website.

2. Background music

Playing background music on your website can totally put off 99% of your visitors. They may not share the same taste in music as you do and if they are irritated by continuous background music when they try to navigate your web pages, they would normally not even try to find a way to mute the sound but actually leave your site. Visitors who are on dial up connection will also have to wait quite a long time for your pages to load so that they can view them. When this happens, they usually leave before having a chance to see what you can offer them.  If your site is not music related, stay away from looping background music or if you feel the need for music, at least provide your visitors with a way to turn it off.

3. Popup windows and other excessive advertisements

So many companies use popup windows to display their advertisements that the whole purpose of this kind of advertising has lost its value. Popup blockers have become very popular so it is not really worth it to display your products in a popup window. People also tend to close a popup window without even looking at it and will even leave a website if there are too many of these windows appearing on their screens. The same can be said about the excessive use of banners, flash ads or other kinds of intrusive advertisements that can annoy your visitors and defeat the whole purpose of your website.  If you are still in the process of creating your own website and are serious about your online business, you should avoid these kind of advertisements or keep it to the absolute minimum.

As a webmaster, you should concentrate on creating a website that is easy to read, provide valuable information and products and do not put off visitors with fancy technology and tricks. Your main purpose should be to find visitors who will turn into buyers and come back often.

It is hard to believe, however before 1986, the federal government was agnostic about whether or not an employer’s workforce was legally documented. That year, passage of the Immigration Reform and Management Act of 1986 1st introduced the American workplace to the ideas of I-9 compliance forms, unauthorized employment sanctions and over-documentation discrimination. Ever since, employers are conscripts: deputy border guards attempting to stem the tide of undocumented economic immigrants to the U.S.

Talk about the law of unintended consequences! Who knew that economic immigrants wouldn’t be deterred? That the economic boom times of the 1990’s would result in sustained shortages in unskilled labor and a deliberate abandonment of enforcement of the 1986 1aw? That the I-9 audit requirements would spawn an industry of fake identification? Who knew, when the I-9 compliance failed, miserably and fully, to dissuade economic migrants from coming to America, that the policy manufacturers, rather than conceding failure, would double down on employers with a brand new twist on the same old song.

Enter employment verification, USCIS’s net-based, on-line system to check whether the I-9 compliance information matches the information the govt. has in its data bases. Despite a ton of unhealthy press, employment verify does work: it is (sometimes) fast, straightforward and done, and it will help employers who otherwise haven’t any meaningful ability to suss out whether I-9 compliant documents are real or fake. But when it’s not fast, easy or done, E- Verify, just like the I-9 compliance system before it is fertile ground for unintended consequences:

* More identity theft: E- Verify puts a premium on having knowledge that can “match” the data governmental data. What better information than that of a true person? To combat this, E- Verify rolls out the photo tool, and what happens? The Photo Tool examines only Employment Authorization Documents and Legal Permanent Resident cards, therefore undocumented staff beat the system by avoiding these documents in the I-9 compliant.

* No man’s land for licensed workers who get caught in the paperwork:

False positive final non-confirmations are rare, however they do happen-I personally apprehend of two situations over the past year. And once they happen, there is no remedy for the worker whose record is wrong. The employer is sort of sure to fire the employee-he enjoys statutory immunity from all legal claims therefore long as he depends in smart faith on E-Verify process, whereas if he keeps the employee on board, he has to inform E- Verify he is doing thus-thereby inviting a visit from ICE. Where is that this employee supposed to find a job where each employer needs employment verification and where the employee must depend upon the bureaucracy for a data fix?

* Additional training costs for employers: to guard against discrimination, E-Verify prohibits pre-employment queries and requires employers to continue to employ workers with tentative non-confirmations till things is resolved. At a minimum, this implies a week or two of work for any employee who decides to contest the tentative non-confirmation; at worst it suggests that workers bent on gaming the system will move from job to job to draw a paycheck, while the employer has to stay recruiting and coaching, frequently again.

* A permanent underclass in Arizona. Necessary E-Verify compliant participation has led to an ever-increasing category of unintended consequences-our fellow Arizonans, delivered to the U.S. as children, educated in our schools and drenched in our culture. Note: E-Verify process suggests that thousands are doomed to suffer the sins of their fathers-they have no probability of employment in this State.

So where do we tend to go from here? Employment continues to be a magnet that pulls economic migrants, regardless of what our immigration laws provide. Electronic verification is politically in style and continues to gain traction with employers. Pragmatists say it’s time to focus on fixing E-Verify, not opposing it. The New Employment Verification Act, co-sponsored by Congresswoman Giffords and currently pending in Congress, puts recent ideas on the table-a biometric option to the verification method and a remedy for Americans mistakenly rejected by the government systems. Notably, E- Verify has commissioned an independent, comprehensive study of E-Verify compliance in Arizona, which will include an assessment of its unintended consequences and undoubtedly, sound recommendations for tweaking the system. Most importantly, the DREAM Act, which can permit a path to legal standing for undocumented youngsters who can demonstrate their contribution to our society, is prepared to maneuver in Congress. Let’s build it happen.

In this seventh edition, Robert L. Heilbroner provides a new theme that connects thinkers as diverse as Adam Smith and Karl Marx. The theme is the common focus of their highly varied ideas — namely, the search to understand how a capitalist society works. It is a focus never more needed than in this age of confusing economic headlines.pIn a bold new concluding chapter entitled The End of the Worldly Philosophy? Heilbroner reminds us that the word end refers to both the purpose and limits of economics. This chapter conveys a concern that today’s increasingly scientific economics may overlook fundamental social and political issues that are central to economics. Thus, unlike its predecessors, this new edition provides not just an indispensable illumination of our past but a call to action for our future.Lester ThurowpThe Worldly Philosophers, quite simply put, is a classic….None of us can know where we are coming from unless we know the sources of the great ideas that permeate our thinking.
